The finding

The scope required real money. Raza itemized it, held the number, and got the order anyway.

Marshall wanted LiberalExaminer.com to read like Politico. His opening offer did not cover it. Instead of walking away or quietly underdelivering, Raza broke the job into its real parts and quoted $490. Marshall paid it, then came back four more times for sister sites in the same network: FaithfullyCountry, BengalCats, The Mindset Masters, and a live SSL fix.

The claim

Help managing and marketing an existing community website.

The finding

The existing site could not work. Raza said so, then built the one that could.

Gina had already paid another freelancer for a mental-health discussion forum competing against Reddit and Facebook groups, at $80 a month in hosting. Raza could have taken her money to manage it anyway. Instead he told her it would not work, registered a free domain, and built her a personal author blog around her upcoming book. Lower fee, harder conversation, better outcome.

The claim

A donor microsite that broke two days after launch, three days before a fundraising deadline.

The finding

The build was salvageable. Raza fixed only what was broken and left the rest alone.

Daniel's team had already paid another developer for the donor microsite. The forms failed silently, with no error logs and no time to start over. Raza could have rebuilt it from scratch and billed for a full project. Instead he traced the plugin conflict, patched the form handler, and left the working theme untouched. Fixed in four days, for the price of a fix, not a rebuild.
